The fourth show of Rising Star 2017 was aired this evening. So far, a total of 19 acts have advanced to the next stage of the selection.

A participant had to get at least 70% positive votes during the performance in order to qualify. Each of the four judges had 10% while the rest of the votes came from the audience in the TV studios during the filming, all voting yes or no for a specific act.

Tonight’s five qualifiers are:

  • Chen Maximov (84%)
  • Ron Buchbut (82%)
  • Elayev Family (77%)
  • Beta Zinc (77%)
  • Michal Shapira (76%)

Elayev Family previously participated in Kdam Eurovision 2005 with the song Esperansa. They are the third Eurovision-related act in Rising Star 2017 so far, along with Imri Ziv and Julietta.

They join the fourteen acts who qualified during shows 1, 2 and 3:

Show 5 of Rising Star 2017 will be aired next week, on Monday, 23 January. The final, which is also the tenth show, will be held on 13 February.

Gil is 23 years old, grew up in Israel and lives in Sweden. He began following the Eurovision Song Contest at the age of five, when the contest was held in Jerusalem in 1999. Gil joined the ESCToday team in March 2008, shortly after co-hosting the Israeli national selection that year.
