The clock is ticking and it’s getting exciting in Ukraine as preparations are in full swing for tomorrow’s Battle of the City televised show. The 6 potential host cities are gearing up to showcase their respective proposals. Who will be presenting the candidacies?

NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has confirmed the names of the persons who will be responsible to present the proposals.

  • DniproMr. Mayor Boris Filatov (Mayor of Dnipro)
  • LvivMr. Andrew Moskalenko (Deputy Mayor  of Lviv)
  • Kharkiv- Mr. Igor Terekhov (First Deputy Mayor of Lviv)
  • KhersonMr. Volodymyr Mykolayenko (Mayor of Kherson)
  • OdessaMr. Gennady Trukhanov (Mayor of Odessa)

The Battle of the City, a special televised debate presenting the 6 ESC 2017 candidate cities will be aired tomorrow at 17:30 CET on NTU 1 and will be aired live on NTU’s official Youtube channel and official Facebook page.

A total of 6 cities have officially submitted their respective bids to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine next year.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, and will consist of 4 stages.

On 21 July NTU and the special Eurovision 2017 Committee will whittle down the number of potential host cities from 6 to 2. Hereafter NTU, the ESC 2017 Committee and the EBU will inspect and evaluate the 2 finalist cities in the race, thus visiting the potential venues and infrastructure etc.

The 2017 Eurovision host city will be announced during a special press conference on 1 August.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
