This Saturday, the 11th semi final of the Icelandic selection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will be held and broadcaster RÚV has now revealed the line-up for the show. Another three songs will be performed and the best one – chosen by televoting – will compete in the national final on 16th February.
This week’s lineup as announced by RUV is:
Friður á þessari jörð– Ali Mobli, Harold Burr, Hildur Guðný Þórhallsdóttir, Sigurður Þór Óskarsson, Soffía Karlsdóttir (Composer Barði Jóhannsson)
Í rússíbana– Hrund Ósk Árnadóttir (Composer: Magnús Eiríksson)
The Wiggle Wiggle Song– Haffi Haff (Composer: Svala Björgvinsdóttir )
In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Iceland did not manage to reach the final of the Eurovision Song Contest although the country was sometimes quite close finishing 16th, 13th and again 13th in the semi final respectively. Iceland will have take part in one of the semi finals in Belgrade.
