Lordi, the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest winners, are about to release their latest single Beast loose in Paradise. The single, set to be released on 19 December by Sony BMG Finland will be appearing in the band's forthcoming film Dark Floors. The other single Lordi have recorded is Studs and Leather, Heaven's on Fire meets Balls To The Wal according to Mr Lordi.
Lordi fans can look forward to two brand new singles by their favourite band, both singleswere especially made for their forthcoming film Dark Floors. December 19 will see the release of the first one, Beast loose in Heaven, which according to Mr Lordi was finalised during their recent US tour with Ozzy Osbourne. The Studs and leather single was originally meant to be included in the band's debut album in 1999 Bend over and pray the Lord which never saw the light of day. Both songs have undergone many changes during the production process :" I think that's the first time some part of a song was made like this in the history of this band. The arrangements are done pretty much while the songs are demoed. The rest while rehearsing the songs and the final decisions in studio when recording." Mr Lordi stated in an interview with MonsterDiscoHell.com.
In the same interview Mr Lordi was asked to comment on reports that the band's new songs wil be "more brutal and raw" than the ones on The Arocalypse album. "Our music is not gonna get any brutal or heavier, but not any lighter either , that's for sure! I think it's gonna be pretty much the same." Mr Lordi answered. "Although 'Beast Loose in Paradise' is more 'movie-esque' and 'horror-ish' on purpose. And some might say it's even heavier, but at the very least the chorus will be familiar and melodic LORDI stuff." and he concluded "These songs were made for the movie and do not necessarily represent the future material in any way."
In another piece of news, Lordi have announced that due to Dark Floor's film post-production work, their show at Lappi Arena, scheduled for 11 December has been postponed. The new date will be announced shortly. Tickets already purchased for the December concert will be valid for the new show. Tickets will also be refundable at the point of purchase.
