In the Spring of 2003, the winner of the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest, Charlotte Nilsson, tours across Scandinavia with the London Symphony Orchestra in the West End musical Jesus Christ Superstar, in which she will play the leading cast as Mary Magdalene.

Swedish news paper Aftonbladet writes that Charlotte Nilsson will play the “role of her lifetime”. The so-called rock opera, written by British musical icon Andrew Lloyd Webber, was originally only planned to be realised as a CD project back in 1970. However, enormous success followed, and the project soon transformed into a concert as well as a movie, and finally the world-famous musical.

Charlotte Nilsson is excited about her upcoming tour through Scandinavia. “Through 'Jesus Christ Superstar' I'll get the chance to show my musical diversity, and prove that singing 'Take Me to your Heaven' winning song of the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest is not the only thing I can do. I'm extremely flattered that they asked me. I've been dreaming about such a role for a long time already, and now I finally got the opportunity”, Charlotte Nilsson says.

Charlotte Nilsson plans to release a new solo album after the tour.
