Kat Mahon

Anybody got a shoulder

Kat is more commonly known as Kathleen but, for the sake of Eurosong, Ireland’s selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, it was decided that she would abbreviate her first name.

She has spent around ten years singing around Ireland and gaining experience with live audiences. This is not just on her own as she was part a band and also supported artists such as Delerontos and John Spillane.

Neither will her performance on Eurosong be her first on television. She took part in The All Ireland Talent Show as part of Lilac Blues and currently she is a contestant on the fourth series of The Voice Ireland having chosen Kian Egan (formerly of the band Westlife) to be her mentor.

Her time is precious at the moment as not only does she have a job as a youth worker in Longford but also is a mother of a nine year old girl.

A while ago Charlie McGettigan, one of the singers who won Eurovision in 1994 with Paul Harrington (Rock and roll kids) was looking for the right voice for a ballad of his and Paul Gurney, who is a musician in the area, suggested Kat. The song was waiting in the wings until the end of last year when it was submitted to RTÉ with the rest being history.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
