The three experienced Swedish artists Kikki Danielsson, Elisabeth Andreassen (Bettan) and Lotta Engberg are said to be possible entrants to the Norwegian national final of 2003.

Thomas G:son is the composer of the song Put another Hand in your Hand which has been submitted to the Norwegian national final Melodi Grand Prix 2003. It already was confirmed by Swedish broadcaster SVT that another of his songs, All that it takes, which will be performed by Sanna Nielsen, is one of the 32 songs allowed to participate in the Swedish semi finals of their preselection Melodifestivalen 2003.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the trio Kikki Danielsson (Sweden 1982 & 1985), Elisabeth Andreassen (Sweden 1982, Norway 1985, 1994 & 1996) and Lotta Engberg (Sweden 1987) has been asked to perform the song Put another Hand in your Hand, but only if it should turn out to qualify for the Norwegian final next year. In two more weeks we will know for sure whether the Norwegian jury has chosen their song as one of the ten songs which will compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2003 in Oslo Spektrum, the ESC arena of 1996, on the 16th of February. If the outcome will be a participation in the Norwegian final, they will follow the example of Nanne Grönvald from One More Time (UK), Jan Johansen (Norway), Antique (Greece) and Sahléne (Estonia), whom all have tried to qualify for Eurovision representing another country. The reason for this is likely to be that the Swedish national final is considered to be the toughest one there is.

On their own, together or with other artists, the trio has already participated 18 times in national finals in Sweden and Norway. In addition they have all participated in Eurovision Song Contest as well, no less than in six occasions that is. And once the outcome was a Eurovision victory, in 1985 when Elisabeth Andreassen formed part of the Norwegian duo Bobbysocks and performed the song La det swinge. Kikki and Bettan represented Sweden together in 1982, as the duo Chips, with the song Dag efter dag which reached 8th position. Kikki, Bettan and Lotta did also participate in Melodifestivalen 2002 with the Swedish song Vem e de du vill ha? which reached third position.

The three women are really enjoying success in these days. They were recently offered the leading roles in the Scandinavian version of the musical The Witches of Eastwick, based on the horror movie with the same title of 1987. In the movie version the three well-known actresses Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon played the witches, while Jack Nilcholson played the devil. The first night of the Swedish version of the musical is planned for 2004. “It will be my debut in a musical,” Kikki says. Elisabeth comments the offer this way: “I haven't even had time to talk to the other girls. But it's of course very flattering. I love the movie in which Cher did a great interpretation. This seems to be an interesting project.”
