1. Einar Ágúst Víðisson & Sigurjón Brink (singers, composer: Guðmundur Jónsson) – Straumurinn

The two casually dressed singers are playing the guitars while singing their standard midtempo ballad, another one with a slight country attitude. Most people have probably expected a more Europop style song by Iceland's 2000 participant. The vocals are very good but the overall impression is rather unspectacular. Nevertheless, looking at the results of the last few weeks, this might well be the entry to qualify tonight!
The jury compares the song to the summer hits Baila me and Vamos a la playa.

There is a recap of last week's qualifier as well as of the song Bigger shoes that did not qualify last week but will get a second chance as a wildcard entrant.

2. Hafdís Huld Þrastardóttir (singer and composer) – Á gleymdum stað

Hafdís Huld Þrastardóttir's second entry in the competition is in a similar style as her first song Boys and perfume. The dreamy ballad is nicely enhancedby awide-eyed performance. Her sailor dress would probably not be the best choice for the final if she qualifies, unless it reflects the lyrics – this time in Icelandic! – in some way.

3. Bjartur Guðjónsson (singer, composer: Andrea Gylfadóttir) – The girl in the golden dress

Number three tonight is a pop / disco song in the style of some hits of the late 1970s. Unfortunately the singer is off key throughout the whole performance. Despite the James Bondish style, this song is not about the man with the golden gun but about the girl with the golden dress… she is not on stage though. Overall probably the most catchy melody in this semi final.
