Estonian broadcaster ETV decided to organize the 47th Eurovision Song Contest in Saku Suurhall.
In order to select the venue of the Eurovision Song Contest, ETV organized a competition between AS Rocca al Mare Suurhall, owner of the Saku Suurhall and MTÜ Jalgpalliklubi FCF, owner of the Lilleküla Football Stadium.
The space and infrastructure have to create the environment for the production and transmission of a high-level television- and radio programme. Also the venua had to give Europe a good view on Estonia.
After the thorough examination and evaluation of all the conditions and solutions, the 5 jury members preferred the Saku Suurhall, where the contest will be held at May 25, 2002.
