Marija Serifovic, the Serbian 2007 Eurovision Song Contest winner, met with Azerbaijani officials on a state visit to Serbia. Marija was presented with a traditional Azerbaijani scarf especially embroidered for her by the members of her newly-found fan club in the country.

The Azerbaijani delegation on a state visit to Serbia asked to meet with Marija Serifovic as it seems the Serbian singer has become popular in the country after her Eurovision victory. The singer was invited to Baku, capital city of Azerbaijan, and she was presented with a traditional scarf by Mr Asaf Hajiyev, Correspondent Member of the National Academy of Sciences and a Professor of Mathematics. The scarf was especially made forMarija by her Azeri fans.Marija promised that she will soon have a special musical treat forthem in return.

After the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki an Azerbaijani Marija Serifovic fan club and website were formed by local fans.
