Helena Paparizou, the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest winner, has told Cypriot newspaper Simerini that a third participation in the Eurovision Song Contest is not in her plans but she would like to do something for Sweden; maybe host Melodifestivalen or participate as an author of a song in the country's national final, Melodifestivalen.
Born and raised in Sweden to Greek immigrant parents, Helena Paparizou, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song My number one, in a recent interview to the Cypriot newspaper Simerini stated that next time she will get involved with the competition, it won’t be for Greece but for Sweden.
Shewould not participate as a singer, as she has already done it twice, but she expressed her intention to be the hostess of Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, or to be an author of one of the songs. "I owe it to Sweden” she stated.” It’s the country where I was raised and I’d like to do something for them”.
Inthe same interview she revealed that in the spring of 2008 she will release a new Greek album and after that, maybe in the spring of 2009 there will be a release of a new international album.
