Today, the Israeli broadcaster IBA (Israelian Broadcasting Authority) jury picked Lior Nakis as the Israeli representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga. Talia Grossfeld told that on the EC Germany messageboard.

Nakis, a 27 year old singer who has released four albums in Israel so far, is said to have an oriental style, similar to Sarit Hadad, the Israelian representative of 2002.

The choice of Lior Nakis is said to be a political one, as some jury members of oriental origin would have strongly insisted on having a singer who represents an oriental style.
