Maia Vahtramäe

Üle vesihalli taeva

Twenty-three year old Maia Vahtramäe is the former vocalist with Põhja-Tallinn, who participated at Eesti Laul 2013 with their huge domestic hit Meil on aega veel.

The song finished in sixth place behind winner Birgit Õigemeel, runner-up Grete Paia and Winny Puhh, who became an international sensation as a result of their explosive onstage performance.

Maia also joined forces with Estonia’s 2011 entrant Getter Jaani to come up with Meelelahutajad, a 2013 song penned by Sven Lõhmus.

Üle vesihalli taeva, which will compete in the first semi-final on 7th February 2015, is composed by Olav Osolin, who told his social media followers:

‘I got to know Maia through the TV show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” and I’ve been a fan of her voice ever since. This song speaks to those who are far away from us, sometimes to distant lands and seas, and we are looking forward to seeing them again, not knowing if they will return or not…’

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
