As already reported, a biography about France Gall's career as recently been published in France. In this week's edition of “Télé Magazine”, co-author Grégoire Colard – who worked as press manager for the singer during 16 years – states that the singer will never record new songs.
France Gall, 60 years old today,has not performed any new material since the death of her husband, composer & lyricist, Michel Berger in 1992 and she has stopped making public appearances after the death of her daughter in 1997. Actually, the last to date "new song" of France Gall is La seule chose qui compte, a never-released composition which was included to the lady's anthology, released in 1994.Now, her press manager for the past 16 years stated that the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest winner will never record new material again.
France Gall won the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest for Luxembourg with Poupée de cire, poupée de son, which was nominated as one of the best Eurovision songs in the contest's Congratulations 50th anniversary special.Nowdays, France is a patron in the charity organisation Coeur de Femmes struggling to provide better living conditions for women worldwide and especially in Africa.
Aspecial show will be made on television before the end of this year to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Berger's sudden death (a heart attack) in 1992.
