Last week esctoday.com wrote that the British broadcaster BBC received 700 songs for the national final, A Song for Europe 2003. BBC announced more details about the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.

Out of the 700 submitted songs, twenty will be selected for a shortlist. An internal commission will select eight songs for Terry Wogan's Breakfast Show on Radio 2. Televoters will get the chance to select the best four songs. These songs will be performed in a television show somewhere in the first week of March, where televoters will decide who will represent the United Kingdom at the 48th Eurovision Song Contest.

Meanwhile, the group D*A*Z* said to have a chance to appear in the final of A Song for Europe 2003 The British Academy for Songwriters and Composers (BASC) denied the rumour.
