Upon expiration of the deadline today at 12 noon, the Danish broadcaster has received 433 entries for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2008. Although the number is slightly lower than last year by 32 entries, DR state that they are happy to see that interest in the Eurovision Song Contest is still high.
Although the names of the artists and the song titles will be revealed in December, esconnet.dk reports that some familiar names can be found amongst the participants. Annete Heick returns despite last year's nil points at the Dansk MGP final, so do Me & My. Also Niels Drevsholt, the composer of the Danish 2006 entry, Twist of love, returns with a song co-written by his son Lars, a member of Luna Park.
DR will, once again, hold two semi finals, on Saturday 12th and 19th January and the final on 2 February. There will also be two wildcards selected by the listeners of radio P3 and P4, where the songs that did not make it to the final will get a second chance.
