A detailed image of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrade has been made available. The stage design symbolises the two Serbian rivers, the Sava and the Danube and their meeting point, Kalegmedan Park, in the center.

The stage, that looks much like a river flowing, has three circular island stages around its main body. The main one is connected by a bridge to the body of the stage. On the far left and right, behind the other two island stages, there are two vertical transparent video panels which symbolise the two Serbian rivers Sava and Danube.

The main body of the stage symbolises the bridge that connects them. The central piece, comprising a four-piece flying sculpture and two long wavy steel ones, symbolises the Kalemegdan Park and fortress in Belgrade. The park overlooks the point where the Sava and the Danube meet.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
