As Melodifestivalen 2015 approaches SVT have revealed new rules and changes to the Andra Chansen format of the annual Swedish national finals.
SVT revealed earlier this week that the general public will be able to listen to the second chance songs directly after each heat. Christer Bjorkman is quoted as saying in the article We want to make Second chance a better and more exciting programme. It create’s better conditions for the songs
The article goes on to inform us that the rule change allows the general public to be able to listen to the entries that will place three to seven in the heats immediately after the end of the program. In previous years of Melodifestivalen the second chance entries have not been released until the end of the fourth heat.
The famous Andra Chansen second chance round this year has the third and fourth finalists of each heat meet in four duels. The winners of each duel then will go to the finals. That means there will be 12 places in the finals instead of ten as it has been in previous years.
