Latvian broadcaster LTV has announced the song submition deadline as well as the dates of the semi finals and the final of Eirodziesma 2008.

Following the pattern of the previous years, the winner of Eirodziesma 2008 will be selected in two semi finals scheduled on February 2 and 9, and a final on March 1, 2008.

The deadline for submitting the songs is November 19. The foreign song writers are welcome to submit their work, keeping in mind that the perfomer must be the citizen or the resident of Latvia.

The 20 entries, selected by the jury of experts, to compete for the ticket to Eurovision Song Contest 2008 will be announced on December 7. The jury of experts as well as the televote will determine which 10 songs will participate in the final while the winner of Eirodziesma 2008 will be selected by the televote only.

Bonaparti.lv represented Latvia at Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki and finished 16th which means that the Latvian entry to be chosen on March 1, 2008, will participate in the ESC 2008 semi final.
