In the wake of Marija Serifovic's triumph in Helsinki this past May, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as well sees a steep rise in interest amongst Serbian audiences. With this in mind, RTS have planned their national final in a 5.000 seat venue that is expected to be filled to capacity.

The Serbian national Junior Eurovision final will be held on Sunday 7 October, at the Millennium Hall in Vrsac, 80 kilometres north-east of Belgrade. Ten acts from all parts of Serbia have been selected by a special jury to compete and the winner will be decided by televote and jury vote. The jury comprises popular singers and composers. The songs this year are mostly pop tunes and some have a harder edge to them. The Fearless Teachers of Foreign Languages, which represented Serbia at the 2006 Junior, will perform in the interval act.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
