At her own website, the German singer Katy Thomas claims that she will take part in German final Countdown Grand Prix 2003. There are rumours that Ralph Siegel will write a song for her, as she is signed to Siegel’s record label Jupiter Records.

Katy Thomas was supposed to compete in the German final in 2002, but was unable to do so because of a serious illness. After a liver transplantation in February 2002, the 27 year old singer is recovering very well and has released two singles since. Her recent single is called Back to Life. On her website she says: “Of course I am there in Kiel in February 2003!”. The German final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003, Countdown Grand Prix, will take place in Kiel at the 7th of March, 2003.

Katy Thomas is recently signed to the Jupiter Record, Ralph Siegel’s record label. As the entries for the German final are made by record companies, it seems to be clear that Katy Thomas will take part in the national final. The question is: who will be the composer of her song? After the disappointing result for Corinna May last year, Siegel said that he will never again write a song for the Eurovision Song Contest, but he recieved much disbelief for this claim.
