The beginning of RUV's search for the 2008 Icelandic representative in the Eurovision Song Contest has been postponed by one week: the first semi final of Laugardagslögin will not take place this Saturday but next Saturday, 6th October.
Despite the postponement, Iceland will still be the first country to kick off its selection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. At the moment, the first show of Laugardagslöginis not indicated to be among theprograms with an internetlive stream on ruv.is.
The show starts at 21:15 CET, the results will be presented at 22:35 CET. In the show, three songs will be presented and the one reaching the final will be chosen by televoting, although there is also a jury that comments on the songs. One of the jury members will be Selma who represented Iceland twice in the Eurovision Song Contest: in 1999, she achieved second place (Iceland's best result so far) with All out of luck; in 2005 she didn't manage to qualify through the semi final with If I had your love.
