It has been reported these past days that the Estonian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest is going to be broadcast on 9th February. The published rules of Eurolaul 2008 state that the show will be shown on 9th February 2008, however the organisers do not confirm the dates.
esctoday.com asked for confirmation from ERR (formerly known as ETV it was merged with Estonian Radio this year and is now called Estonian Public Broadcasting). So far the organisers do not confirm the dates and only say the selection show Eurolaul 2008 will be broadcast in "February 2008".
The voting system will remain the same as last year according to ERR. This means double televoting by first choosing the top 3 songs and then choosing the winner with a second televote. Estonia will participate in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrad, Serbia next May.
