Evridiki, who has represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992, 1994 and 2007, stated in a recent interview that although she enjoyed her participation immensely, she considers this circle closed.
Evridiki competed for Cyprus for the thrird time this year with the song Comme ci, comme ça failing to make it to the final. Although disappointed with the European verdict, Evridiki highly enjoyed the experience. The popular Cypriot artist statesthough thatshe will not be trying again in the future. “Had I not participated so many times, I would probably consider it again, but the circle has closed for me” says Evridiki but for any young artist aspiring to enter Europe’s most popular music contest she advises “Go ahead! It is worth it!”.
Evridiki’s latest album 13, which did not sell as expected, will be re-released in October with two bonus tracks in a repackaged edition. The artist's very successful summer tour ends on 23rd September with the free-for-all Amita Positive Energy gig at the Athens Olympic Taekwondo stadium.
