Celine Dion is undertaking a year-long world tour visiting 5 continents, over 25 countries, and more than 100 cities next year. She is set to kick the tour off in South Africa and then move to Belgium, France and Switzerland where tickets are already on-sale. Celine's full world tour itinerary and dates for additional ticket sales will be announced next month. She sent her new English language single “Taking chances” to radio stations this week, with the album of the same name – her first English language record in over three years – due in mid-November.
Celine Dion will return to Switzerland next summer after she finishes her long-running Las Vegas show at the end of the year; the Canadian singer gave the alpine country her last Eurovision Song Contest win almost 20 years ago in 1988, and now she'll stop in Geneva and Zurich on her new world tour. The tour itself premiers next February in South Africa with a Valentine's Day concert in Johannesburg benefiting the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. She'll give additional concerts in Pretoria Tswane, Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth which will also benefit the fund before moving into Belgium, France and Switzerland. Tickets for South Africa, France, and Geneva are already on sale; tickets go on sale in Zurich on Monday 17 September.
The full tour itinerary for the five continent, 100 city-plus tour will be announced on October 15 with the remaining ticket sales beginning in mid-November to coincide with the release of the new English-language album "Taking chances". The new single of the same name was written by Kara DioGuardi and Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics). The Canadian singer ends the record breaking five-year run of her show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on 15 December – two months before starting the world tour in Johannesburg.
