The Ukrainian selection process which will decide this year's candidate for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has entered its final stage according to the International Relations Board of the National Television Company Of Ukraine.

All 12 finalists are currently in the Artek international children recreational camp in Crimea where they are working hard on their final performances under the guidance of the leading show biz professionals – choreographers, vocals and acting technique tutors, make-up artists and stylists. The children will spend two weeks in camp together with artists from three professional children ballets (Vostorg, A6 and Arlekin circus studio).

On Saturday, 15 September, a televised live show will take place where the children will perform two of their favourite songs each, in order to familiarize themselves with live performing on stage with a view to the Ukrainian final scheduled for 22nd September. The show will be hosted by Timur Myroshnichenko.

NTU broadcasts daily the Junior Eurovision Diaries where the viewers can watch the progress of the participating children.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
