Beth, the Spanish representative in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Riga (Latvia), is to start a tour to perform the theatre play Tirant lo Blanc in several European cities.
Joanot Martorell's Tirant lo Blanc (Tirant the White, in English) is one of the most remarkable epic romances written in the Middle Ages in Spain. Written in Valencia in 1490, Tirant lo Blanc is a story about a knight -Tirant- from Brittany.
More than five centuries later, Beth, the Spanish entrant in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, that took place in Riga (Latvia), is to kick off a tour to show the theatre adaptation of this medieval masterpiece in various European cities: she will start performing in Berlin on September 27th, then in Frankfurt and finally in Madrid. Tirant lo Blanc will be performed three times in each city. This theatre adaptation is directed by Calixto Bleito and Beth will play one of the main characters.
Beth was elected by the Spanish viewers of Operación Triunfo to represent the country in ESC 2003. Her performance of Dime achieved 81 points and the 8th position in the final scoreboard, together with Iceland's Birgitta Haukdal.
