Good result and good vewing figures for the debut of Portugal at the Eurovison Dance Contest. 1.4 million viewers tuned in last Saturday, making it the most watched show of the weekend on Portuguese television.
Afeeling of accomplishment is how the participation of Portugal at the first Eurovision Dance Contest can be described. A place in the top five and the good viewing figures of the show left RTP executives pleased with the experience. "The essential feeling is that of great satisfaction and genuine emotion", said the director of RTP, Nuno Santos, at Correio da Manhã, one of the biggest Portuguese newspapers.
The good result by Sónia and Ricardo was highly praised by the media and specially at RTP's morning show where Sónia is one of the hosts. The performance was shown several times and she spoke on the phone thanking everybody who took part of this project. Sónia feels very happy with the whole experience. "It (the result) suprpassed all of my expectations" she told Jornal de Notícias.
The Eurovision Dance Contest was the most watched show on portuguese television on the weekend, with around 1.4 million viewers. The Final of this year's Eurovision Songcontest was watched by 9.8 million viewers.
