The national Greek broadcaster ERT has decided not to broadcast the 1st Eurovision Dance Contest live tonight due to the state of emergency declared in Greece with the ongoing fires throughout the country. The Eurovision Broadcasting Union (EBU) has confirmed that a back up jury will determine the Greek votes instead of the usual televoting.

Greece will be represented by Spyros Pavlidis and Rania Koliu. They will be competing with 2 dancing numbers: their first performance will be a Jive number danced to theBlues Brothers soundtrack Everybody Loves Somebody. The Greek couple will show off and portray true Greek essence in their 2nd dance number as they will dance free style Syrtaki on the theme of Zorbas The Greek.

The team of esctoday.com would like to expresstheir deepest sympathy to the Greek population, specially to those who have been affected by this tragedy. Our condolences go out to the familes and friends who have been directly affected by these unfortunate circumstances.
