Johnny Logan and Secret Garden have just gone through some hot discussions between them. The main reason is one of the tracks on Secret Garden's latest cd album; Once in a Red Moon.
Johnny Logan claims that he has been tricked by the Norwegian duo, Secret Garden. The Irish singer told this to OGAE MALTA central committee members during a short visit he made in Malta last Summer.
Johnny Logan claims that he has done the original vocals for You raise me up. Secret Garden never told him that he was going to be replaced by another Irish singer, Brian Kennedy.
“I did the vocals on it and they all went crazy for it! Afterwards, they had no money to pay me, so I said – Ok, you can play on one of my albums. We signed the contract and agreement. Then their record company didn't want two Eurovision singers on the same album. So they pulled me off and put Brian Kennedy, copying my vocals…even my breath!“, claimed Johnny Logan.
In the past months, things have gone a bit further. According to Johnny Logan, Secret Garden wanted to meet him again. Their manager told him that Fionnula and Rolf wanted to apologize.
“I know they want to release it in Germany but they don't want his (Brian Kennedy) voice but mine.“, said Johnny Logan. “It's a very bad way to behave! They have to pay me a lot of money before I do it. They need me to promote the song on TV in Germany.”
