Escmalta have launched the first Junior Live Festival 2007 which will take place on Friday 14th September 2007 at Tattingers Club, Rabat. The purpose of the Festival is to showcase young Maltese talent and give artists between the ages of 7 to 15 another chance to be exposed to the public.
"There exists a lot of great talent amongst Malta's young, and many times it is not exposed to the public since there aren't many opportunities. Therefore this festival will give a second chance to young singers to show their talent in Malta, besides the Malta Junior Song For Europe" Cyrus Engerer of Escmalta told Esctoday.com.
The young artists can compete in two categories according to their age, one for 7 to 10 year olds and another for 11 to 15 year olds. The festival is open to Maltese children between the ages of 7 to 15. The songs submitted for the Junior Live Festival do not necessarily have to be original creations. The songs can be sung in any language or languages recognised by the European Union. The Festival will be broadcast live on one of Malta's TV stations to be announced soon. The deadline for the submission of the songs is 31st of August.
