The late Croatian songwriter Đorđe Novković and one of the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest presenters, Oliver Mlakar, are the latest additions to Croatia's Hall of Fame in Opatija.

Đorđe Novković wrote the lyrics of Croatia's first ever Eurovision Song Contest entry Don't Ever Cry in 1993 and is the father of the 2005 entrant Boris Novković, whilst Oliver Mlakar was presenter of the Contest in Zagreb in 1990 along with Helga Vlaović. Đorđe died suddenly last May of a stroke. Oliver presents the popular quiz show Kviskoteka on Croatian national television.

The statues are awarded for the two men's contribution to Croatian culture.They will be unveiled next month.
