Stockholm Pride's Schlager night went down a storm last night as the weather held off for a second year running. A packed park of over 30,000 people saw an amazing show with five international acts from outside of sweden and a further four former Swedish Eurovision Song Contest representatives.
Highlights of the show were Sonja Alden, who was brought back to sing För att du finns for a second time by the crowd who refused to stop cheering until she returned. She began a reprise of the song before silencing them with part of the song in English, For your love, which sent the audience wild at the end. Highlights can be seen in the video below.
Nanne Gronvall, who to the surprise of most Eurovision Song Contest fans, failed to reach the Melodifestivalen final yearlier this year gave a massive performance of this year's song, Jag måste kyssa dig and her 2005 second placed Melodifestivalen entry, Håll om mig.
Jessica Andersson performed her two recent solo efforts, Kallar Natten and Kom before returning later in the evening to performa a solo version of her 2003 Eurovision Song Contest entry as part of Fame, Give me your love.
Jill Johnson performed her 2003 national final entry, Crazy in love before a moving rendition of her Eurovision Song Contest entry from 1998, Kärleken är. The crowd gave her a massive ovasion and she came back out on stage for a reprise of Crazy in love.
Måns Zelmerlöw sent the crowd wild with his third placed song from this year's Melodifestivalen, Cara Mia. As with Sonja and Jill, he was called back to perform a second time. His act changing in one way from the Melodifestivalen routine. Stay tuned for more highlight videos to see the difference.
The biggest ovasion of the night however was reserved for a new hero of SchlagerPride, Marija Serifovic. She performed the winning entry of this year's Eurovision song contest, Molitva to an appreciative crowd, before a second performance, this time of the dance version, Destiny. The English lyrics were written in sweden and the crowd clearly loved the track as Marija walked out into the crowd.
The finale of the show this year wasSweden's first Eurovision Song Contest winning song,Waterloo. All the artists returned to the stage one more time. The show was a huge success once again and special thanks must go to Eduard af Sillen for organising the event once again.
