Nina, the 1989 Spanish Eurovision representative is currently hosting a musical show on TV3 Catalunya. The name of this new show aired on the regional Catalan channel is MANIA. The show invites Catalan artists and singers to perform all time classics and international hits in Catalan. The first show was aired last Monday and had the ABBAmania theme.
Nina was discovered by Xavier Cugat and she started off in the famous Spanish quiz show ' Un, Dos, Tres' where she was able todisplay her vocal skills. In 1989 she had the grand honour of representing Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lausanne with the song "Nacida Para Amar" where she conquered the juries with her magnetism and her beautiful voice . She achieved a 6th place with her song. She then went on to act in television and host shows on TV3. She has recorded several albums in native Catalan.
In 2001 the Spanish viewers got a chance to see her again in Operacion Triunfo where she was the headmistress of the academy. She excelled in bringing out the best out of the participants and worked hard in coaching them to become artists. She worked in Operacion Triunfoduring 3 editions, thus polishing and assisting the Spanish Eurovision representatives in 2002, 2003 and 2004 ( Rosa, Beth and Ramon).
Not so long ago Nina was seen performing in the Spanish version of the famous ABBA musical Mamma Mia. She has enjoyed fame and name and sucess thanks to her multi talented faccets.Shetruly has gained a lotof experience both on stageand on the music scene as shehas performed at manymusicals and theatrical plays . Nina will be hosting her new musical show ManiaeveryMonday at 22.20hrs CET on TV3. The themes of the show will be ABBAmania, Rockmania, Cinemania, Greasemnia, 60smania and Discomnania.
