Tonight, the biggest Eurovision Party of the year takes place in Stockholm, Sweden. The annual SchlagerPride night takes place at the Pride Park in the Swedish capital, as one of the main events of the week. The night takes on an international feel with many previous Melodifestivalen performers joined by Eurovision Song Contest stars. esctoday.com is covering the event live in Sweden for the third year running.
Tonight's headline act has long been known, the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest reigning champion, Marija Serifovic. This is her second trip to Sweden after her victory, having stopped off in Stockholm and Malmo during the Winners Tour.
Joining her tonight will be at least four other former Eurovision Song Contest acts. Part of the fun of Schlagerpride is that the names of the performers are kept secret so that the crowd is surprised when the artists arrive on stage. esctoday.com has always promised to mantain this element of surprise, but we can report that there are some intersting names and some real Eurovision Song Contest favourites in town for the show! Fans of the United Kingdom, Belgium and Denmark should all keep an eye on coverage tonight!
esctoday.com caught up with Marija Serifovic after she completed the sound check for tonight's performance, which will of course take place with live vocals and a live band, which she says is "very strong and very good". Keep an eye out for the full Marija Serifovic video interview which will start later today on esctoday.com.
Stay tuned to esctoday.com for coverage of tonight's show, with interviews and videos of the performances coming up over the next couple of days.
