Following Swiss comedian Peach Weber's comments about the contest a few days ago, popular British comedian Bill Bailey has now confirmed his interest to represent the United Kingdom in Belgrade at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008!

A "Bill Bailey For The Eurovision Song Contest" group is already popular on Facebook, with over 17,000 members. Bill himself has taken the idea to heart and is already working on different possible songs for the competition. Bill says that "being the man of the people that he is, he's going to let you choose his entry and will be working on some new songs which you will have the opportunity to vote for".

Bill Bailey is a popular standup comedian who has also appeared in the comedy Black Books, and is a regular appearance on quiz shows such as QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You.

The British representative for Belgrade will be chosen through Making Your Mind Up 2008, probably in March 2008.
