Gerard Joling, the Dutch representative at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, will be releasing his latest hit Maak me gek in Belgium in two weeks. Later, in August, his latest album, with the same name will be released in Belgium as well. The album has already achieved Gold status in his country, having sold more than 35000 copies.

In 1988 he represented his country, the Netherlands, at the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Shangri-la. He ended 9th with 70 points. The Dutch singer is 47 years old, has released 14 albums and 38 singles and his latest album Maak me gek is doing very well in his country, reaching the first position at the charts.

The singer will be releasing his single Maak me gek in Belgium in two weeks. Joling's manager, Wino Omzigt, said: "We haven't cared about Belgium for a long time, but now that it is going so well with Gerard in the Netherlands, they came to us. Dutch music is very popular over there.". Joling will be guest in many TV shows, such us the popular music show Tien om te zien. In August there will be the full release of the album in Belgium.

Song number 6, Alsof je bij me bent, was sung bij Nurlaila Karim in the Dutch national finalof the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998. Song numer 9, Maar vanavond, was written by former Eurovision Song Contest winner Lenny Kuhr (1969) and her ex-husband Herman-Pieter de Boer.
