Svante Stockselius, the EBU executive supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest visited Belgrade, the home of the 2008 contest, to meet with RTS officials. During his visit, Mr Stockselius had the opportunity to meet with members of OGAE Serbia and exchange views and ideas with them.

At a meeting arranged by head of Serbian delegation, Anja Rogljić, members of OGAE Serbia discussed with Mr Stockselius issues regarding the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest offering their ideas for the best possible organisation of the event. OGAE Serbia expressed their intention to participate actively in the organisation of events for the visiting fans. Mr Stockselius underlined that he was very pleased with the creative and interesting ideas of OGAE Serbia and that they could be easily accomplished with the cooperation of RTS.

Head of RTS delegation in Eurovision Song Contest, Anja Rogljić was present at the meeting and she also expressed her satisfaction about the cooperation with OGAE Serbia, saying that RTS will do everything in their power to set the organization of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade at the highest level.

OGAE Serbia reports that during the meeting Svante Stockselius was asked about the potential return of Italy to the contest, something that many fans would like to see. Mr Stockselius was reported to answer that should Italy return then they would be added to the Big Four, making them thus the Big Five. No change to the voting system is in view though. When the matter of East VS West was discussed, Svante reportedly said that he feels that Eastern countries invest in the quality of their songs much, much more and that it is no wonder they do so well in the Eurovision Song Contest.

A very special thank you to Aleksandar Kesic for the report.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
