Svante visited Belgrade to meet with RTSofficials and inspect the possible venues for the contest. He visited the Belgrade Arena, home of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, the Sava Centar (where Serbian national finals are held) and the Expo Center, likely to host the Press Center and the Fan Center respectively in 2008.

Mr Stockselius stated that he is satisfied with the size of the Arena "It is the perfect size, not to large, not too small, we need a certain amount of intimacy", he said. He also said that he is satisfied with the way preparations have begun. "Serbia is on the right track" Svante told the press " you have a good team of people working on the project. But there is a lot of work to be done until May".

The Music and Entertainment department of RTS will be heading the entire Eurovision project.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
