This year's Eurovision Song Contest participants, the Sligo band Dervish, have announced a packed concert schedule for the rest of 2007. Having returned from Latvia and Lithuania, where they accompanied Irish Prime Minister Mary McAleese on her state visits, the band have set off to a busy tour around Europe and the United States.

Currently in the UK, Dervish will perform in all Big Four countries in the following months, as well as The Netherlands, Italy and the United States. A special highlight in this year's tour will be their participation in the 2007 Yeats Festival in their hometown, Sligo, the first one after their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. The concert wil take place on August 5, at the Radisson Hotel and tickets can be booked here.

Chief executive officer of the Yeats Society, Mrs Stella Mew, said: “We are very excited with this year’s festival. It is wonderful to have Dervish headlining in their home town. Lovely too, to see them sharing the festival brochure with veteran poets of the calibre of Richard Murphy".

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
