Seebach and Olsen new on the charts

For the past six weeks Johnny Logan has been what seems almost invincible in top 5 on the Danish charts, but a new Greatest hits album from deceased Danish Eurovision star Tommy Seebach seem to be able to offer him a bit of the competition the 2007 Danish participant, DQ, never really managed to do.

On the Danish album top 40 DQ is still hanging on, although he has dropped another 5 places from last weeks number 18 to being in 23rd position this week. His album, released in Eurovision week, is celebrating its 4th week on the charts, but with a peek as 11th he has so far never been a real competitor to three times Eurovision winner Johnny Logan who appears to be very steady in top 5. Last week he went from fourth to fifth place, but now he is back being number four again with his Irish Connection which is considered a present to his Danish fans; a present the Danish record buyers seem to appreciate.

A new double album with 35 of the biggest hits from Tommy Seebach who passed away way too early four years ago, only 53 years old, looks to be a threat to Johnny Logan as the newly released album has made it directly to a 6th place in its first week. New on the list is also a solo album from Jørgen Olsen, one half of the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest winning duo, Olsen Brothers. His album is new in 35th position on the album top 40. It includes Vi elsker bare danske piger, his song from this year’s Danish final. As a bonus the English version of the song, All European girls,is added giving people a chance to hear how it would have sounded in the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki had he won the national final.

After three weeks the official CD with all 42 participating songs from the newly held Eurovision Song Contest is no longer to be found in top 40.
