Latvian broadcaster, LTV, has reported strong viewing figures for both the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest final and semi final. Despite some further negative reactions in the Latvian press, the broadcaster confirmed to esctoday.com that they remain totally committed to the Eurovision Song Contest and are planning for 2008.

In Latvia, Bonaparti.lv were cheered on in the semi final by 325,300 viewers, a 50.9% audience share. After qualification to the final, 549,800 tuned in on the Saturday night to watch the show, translating into a 68.3% audience share for LTV1.

The press in Latvia have, like many Western countries, been critical of the political / block voting over the following days, and the broadcaster has received many questions regarding withdrawal. LTV have confirmed to esctoday.com that they are committed to the competition and are looking forward to the future and will be participating at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008.

Latvia finished 14th in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Helsinki and will once again need to qualify from the semi final in 2008.
