The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in The Netherlands later this year, with 18 countries participating. Today, the EBU has confirmed that the competing countries and broadcasters are (in alphabetical order):

10. Malta (MTPBS)
11. The Netherlands (AVRO) – Host Broadcaster
12. Portugal (RPT)
13. Romania (TVR)
14. Russia (RTR)
15. Serbia (RTS)
16. Spain (TVE)
17. Sweden (TV4)
18. Ukraine (NTU)

Although 19 countries were supposed to participate according to information given out at the press conference in Helsinki, only 18 countries are now on the list. esctoday.com. Despite rumours of French participation and a return of the United Kingdom, Spain remain the only 'Big Four' country to be participating this year.
