Toto Cutugno, who won the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest for Italy, will be a special guest at the Pop Music Festival, on June 9th in Serbia.

Toto, together with seven members of his band, will be performing in this year's Pop Music Festival on June 9th on Promenada square in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. Dragan Alempijević, the owner of Legat agency who are responsible for the organization of the Festival, expect an audience of 50.000 people, based on last year's numbers.

He will be performing, among other hits, his 1990 winning entry Insieme 1992, with which he gave Italy their second and last victory.

On May 1st, Toto had a rather unpleasant experience while performing Insieme as a guest of the Maltese labour party, in Malta. Insieme 1992, a song celebrating the integration of European nations, was booed by eurosceptics. It took the intervention of one of the hosts to calm down the booing crowd by explaining that the song was an old Eurovision hit that had nothing to do with the current political situation. Toto performed a couple more songs and left the stage, never to return even when the crowd asked for an encore, rhythmically calling out his name.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
