It’s been another big Eurovision related weekend in Hungarian television on a number of shows, including the X Factor and Sztárban sztár, the Hungarian version of Your face sounds familiar.

On Saturday night, RTL Klub aired the third episode of the 2014 Hungarian X Factor series where auditions continued. Among the performing acts were three aspiring artists who each decided to audition with a former Eurovision entry.

A loved up duo named Dreamers were first on the X Factor stage where they performed Magdi Rúzsa’s 2007 Eurovision entry Unsubstantial blues to the four judges, in which they received a mixed response from the audience. Sallai László was next to audition in front of the judges in which he received a positive crowd reaction after performing András Kállay-Saunders’ 2014 Eurovision entry Running. But the artist who received the best crowd response was Kállai-Kiss Zsófi after she auditioned with Rise like a phoenix, the 2014 Austrian entry originally performed by Conchita Wurst. Sunday night saw the continuation of Sztárban sztár on TV2 where ten famous artists continued their bid to become “Hungary’s most versatile performer”. Among the contestants included four former A Dal participants who have been partaking in the competition since early September.

As well as that, two other participating artists were selected to imitate two former Eurovision artists – Sipos Péti was chosen to perform as András Kállay-Saunders with his Eurovision entry Running whilst Hevesi Tamás was chosen to imitate Hungary’s 2007 representative Magdi Rúzsa with her song Szerelem. The videos from last weekend’s show will be uploaded via the TV2Official YouTube channel in due course. You can also check out some of the photos from the show via the Sztárban sztár website!
