Latvian broadcaster LTV has not yet made a decision about using an orchestra at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. Ilona Berzina, LTV's co-ordinator for this year's contest, told that.

Since 1999, the host broadcasters can decide for themselves if they wish to use the live orchestra or not. Due to the high costs and to stimulate the modernization of the contest, none of the host broadcasters since 1999 decided to use it.

Although the chance that an orchestra will appear at the contest again is very small, the statement of Berzina points out that there is at least a chance. Until now, all options are open. A final decision concerning the live orchestra will be made soon.
