Austrian Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst joins the hundreds of celebrities that accepted the challenge that has been trending on all social media the past few days: The Ice Bucket Challenge…but in a different way.

Conchita was nominated by Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic on 19 August 18:03.

Conchita accepted the challenge but with difference to other stars, she didn’t end up drenched in the end! She started the video by pouring a jug full of ice in a bucket of water but then changed her mind as she pulled out a frame with Donate twice instead of ice written on it.

Conchita nominated Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears and Jean Paul Gaultier to do the challenge.

The ice bucket challenge was created to raise awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS which is usually preceded by a hashtag (#) on social media. How does it work? A person nominates someone to do the challenge and he has 24 hours to upload a video of themselves getting dunked by a bucket full of icy water! That person then nominates another 3 or 4 persons to do the challenge.

Thousands of people has done this to show compassion with those who have this disease including many celebrities from all over the world who are also helping the cause by donating money. Artists such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Jennifer Lopez have all accepted the challenge; even Microsoft founder Bill Gates!
