Vienna

Vienna is currently the favourite to host the contest and its believed there are two potential venues submitting bids.

The first of those is the Stadthalle, with a capacity of 16,000. This would be an ideal location for the contest given the venue’s location at the heart of the Austrian capital but there are fears over the Stadehalle’s availability.

ORF’s requirements state that the host venue must be available six weeks prior to the final, but there are a number of events scheduled at the venue during April and May.

Also thought to be vying for the right to host the contest is the Messe Wien. With a capacity of 15,000, this exhibition hall doesn’t have the availability problems that the Stadhalle may potentially face but can still offer the bonus of being in the Austrian capital.
