Jaana and Mikko the two fresh faced hosts of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest spoke exclusively with esctoday.com today minutes before opening the first press conference given in the official press center. They told esctoday.com that the show's scripts have been prepared and approved. Their first rehearsals on stage will begin this afternoon. However, they remained secretive about the show itself hoping to preserve an element of surprise.

Jaana Pelkonen and Mikko Leppilampi discussed their preparations for hosting duties during the first conference in the official press center which opened today. They repeated what they told esctoday.com shortly before the press conference. The two of them met today with the EBU who approved the script that they have been working on for at least the last five months.

The young playful duo fielded questions from the press, and Mikko answered that his French lessons have paid off. He said his French is, "très bien." Jaana re-iterated that they have studied the script very well – implying that the French language portions of the script will be no problem.

Steve Holyer from esctoday.com asked Jaana about the number of costume changes she plans this year. Wanting to keep everything a surprise Jaana politely declined to answer, but when pressed for one small hint she replied with a teasing grin that there would be "many". Feeling bad for holding a press conference but not giving any detailed information, Mikko did say that he would make as many costume changes as Jaana.

The duo exclusively told esctoday.com that they met with Svante Stockselius who approved the detailed script. Svante gave them notes on which portions of the script they should emphasis, or de-emphasis during, the show. They now are rehearsing together on stage as this article is being written.
