Austrian broadcaster ORF have revealed the names of the core project team for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 when Austria plays host to the big event.

After the kick-off earlier last week with the European Broadcasting Union, ORF is moving along with preparations for the 60th anniversary of the contest by appointing key roles for the project. The appointed members include:

  • Edgar Böhm, current Head of Entertainment at ORF, as Executive Producer of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest
  • Stefan Zechner as Producer
  • Martin Szerencsi as Legal Advisor
  • Stefan Wöber as Line Producer
  • Claudio Bortoli as Technical Manager, previously taking on the role for the Olympic games in 2008
  • Roman Horacek as Head of Press of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest

Who will fill the role of event manager – responsible of logistics, hospitality, and security – has not yet been determined.

In an interview with Eurovision.tv, Director General of ORF Dr Alexander Wrabetz said: We are in the fortunate position to have a high number of personalities with major experiences in hosting big TV events, who predominantly have also worked on the topic of the Eurovision Song Contest before. I am convinced that ORF, with this top team and together with the top partners at the EBU as well as further public and private partners from Austria, will make the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest a high-class event from the heart of Europe.

The next meeting between the European Broadcasting Union and ORF’s core team is scheduled for next week in Geneva, Switzerland.

Austria will play host to the upcoming 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest after Conchita Wurst’s victory in Copenhagen with the entry Rise like a phoenix. Already, a number of countries have confirmed their participation in the diamond jubilee event, including Switzerland, Ireland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Finland, and Estonia.
